Have you ever purchased something because it was neat or on sale, but you had no immediate use for it, you just knew you would use it some day? And then you forget about it for a day or week or 15 months, then you go into your craft room for glue and see them in a bag and question your sanity, why did you buy those? Then you are in the drive thru at the bank depositing your teens checks, wondering why they have more in their checking account than you do, then you wonder, do ...flamingos ever have knee pain, and then think, pink I like pink, and all of a sudden the items that you purchased flash in your head with the words, BIRTHDAY BUCKET, and you get all excited, because NOW you know what you are going to do with those items and rush home because you have a candle cookie cutter and you hope that it will fit the bucket, you run into the house, you may or may not slip on the way, head to the basement but remember you have to pee REALLY bad, so you head to the head, teehee, then get in the basement and wonder which bucket the candle cutter is in, you get mad because you cannot find the darn thing and wonder why people can never put things back where they belong, then stop being mad, because you were the last one who used the cutter. You remember and go back upstairs, find it, and place it in the bucket and get excited because it fits PERFECTLY. Then you get even more excited because you have a platter of cookies for a late Christmas party and have some birthdays , so you decide to make 4 batches of cookies instead of 2 so you can make your Birthday Bucket Idea. And the best part, it works, everything fits and you actually like the cookies you made and decorated? Ya, that happened to me last week.

Changing things once again, I have decided to follow my true passion.  COOKIES.  I love everything about cookies, especially decorated sugar cookies.  I have changed my website, go check it out, www.onebakedbroad.com.  Updated my business cards and stickers.  I will be slowly changing this site as well.  Hang in there while I try to get the updates done.  For now, I am sticking with this design.  As always, thanks for stopping!

2014

I am a terrible blogger.  I think about things to post all the time, but never get around to actually posting.  My time management skills lack, well skills.  I think I have none.  I hope to get that somewhat under control this new year.

Well on to goodies, I have dough waiting in the frig as I type, I will post those cookies later this week, promise.  Until then, here at the pictures I wanted to post but never did.

As always, thanks for stopping!

A platter I made for a local business, I made their logo for the center, but since they never responded back to me as promised, I left the logo out, not sure if I have permission or not.

Cookies for church breakfast with St. Nick.  I sort of forgot I had to do these, so it was a rush to get them done.
End result, I have no picture of the square cookies, hmmm.  Honestly, I am not even sure how I decorated them.  Oy, it was a busy couple of days.
Icing all ready to go for a cookie combination, cookies were for a friend's special other, we tried to incorporate as many of his likes as possible . . .
. . . such as hunting, brewing beer, cooking, fixing stuff(tools) a Zamboni with a ballerina, apparently he likes to 'dance' when he runs the floor cleaning at work, cookies you can't see, a hunting shirt, bullets, Sons of Anarchy logo
Snow globe cookies, first time attempting a 3-D type cookie, many mistakes, but I think the end result turned out ok.

just one of the many messes of after cookies are done and decorated.  This was the mess after the snow gloves.
A lemon cake with fresh blueberries, it was to die for!!  I thought it looked so pretty I had to take a picture.

These cookies and cakes were for a 14 year old birthday party.  One for her family and one for her friends.  I really enjoyed making these, although I really need to not procrastinate.  I think I some sort of defect.  Oh well.

A platter of cookies I made a few weeks back.  I totally got the idea from Jill FCS.  So easy to make and I really love the dark colors.

I have no idea what is up with Facebook today, but I cannot post on any of my pages.  Oh well, it is what it is, I guess.  I was looking up images on the web for design ideas for another Day of the Dead Skulls and came across a very large gingerbread cookie.  I was immediately in love with it, so I went in search of the original. Cupookie is the awesome decorator of this very large gingerbread.  I figured I could do something similar, sort of, so I came up with a super easy version for a mini ginger bread man.

Thanks for stopping!

isn't this just awesome!  Thanks Cupookie for sharing!!

This order goes to a dentist office, I hope they do not mind the blood.  :)  I have to say, I really enjoy decorating the Skulls.  So fun!  I want to give a shout out to SweetSugarbelle for the great idea for the lips and teeth.  I love her designs.  Well it looks like the laundry is not going to do itself AGAIN, how ruude. So I am off to attack the mounds.  I hope your Saturday is a good one!
